The Dianthus 'Mountain Mist'Ö, Dianthus gratianopolitanus, is a beautiful smoky pink flower that can be somewhat lacey and fringed. Dianthus will bloom from mid summer to early fall. In order for a longer bloom time, deadhead the blooms continuously throughout the summer. The Scabiosa 'Blanca, Scabiosa Hybrid, is a small flowered form of the Pincushion Flower and it exhibits a a compact habit. 'Blancat' is a reminiscent of a pincushion full of pins. With its gray-green foliage, it has a plant height of 8'¥ and a spread of 12-18", not to mention being disease resistant. It is best to plant Scabiosa in full sun, with well-drained soil and should be watered regularly throughout the warmer months to increase its overall performance.
