The Marigold Eskimo, 'Tagetes erecta', is new and unique. Eskimo is a white marigold with large, creamy white, double carnation type blooms that are simply stunning. The beautiful blooms are located at knee height on top of the plant. The nice dark green foliage sets off the white flower color. The Eskimo Marigold begins to bloom in late spring and continues to bloom until first frost.Marigolds prefers rich organic soils. The soil needs to be well drained and not soggy. Pinch off faded flowers to encourage more blooms. Plant in the spring after average last day of frost. Eskimo Marigolds are excellent for edging, in pots and containers and as a ground cover.

The Mina Lobata Spanish Flag, 'Ipomoea lobata', has sprays of crimson flowers that change to orange and yellow, then white, and are suitable of cuttings. The Spanish Flag is related to the morning glory and is sometimes called the Firecracker Vine or Exotic Love plant. This plant has 1 to 2 inch tubular flowers that occur in spikes of up to 12 flowers. They are crimson upon opening and then they change to orange/yellow and to white. Mina lobata bloom from summer until the first fall frost. Spanish Flags prefer full sun and sandy well drained soil. Water frequently, they do not like to dry out. Plant in the spring, after the last average frost date or until early summer. The Spanish Flag is used for pots, baskets, climbing up fences, trellises, and ground cover.

The Morning Glory Grandpa Otts, 'Tpomoea tricolor', is a Heirloom variety that is so stunning that it belongs in every old-fashioned garden. The intense, 2 to 4 inch across violet blue flowers, have a vivid, incandescent ruby star on the petals. Grandpa Otts blooms from summer until first frost and will bloom more abundantly during cool weather. The flowers open in the morning and close in the evening.Grandpa Otts Morning Glory prefers full sun and average ,sandy, well drained soil. Water them frequently so they do not dry out. Morning glories seem to bloom earlier and with more blooms when they are constricted to a pot. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date. The Oxypetalu Southern Star Heavenly Blue,'Oxpetalum caeruleum', displays a color rarely seen in flowers. The intense glacier blue 1 inch flowers are unlike anything you've ever seen. Even the buds are unique with their pale lavender color. The Southern Star also attracts hummingbirds. Heavenly Blue produces very decorative seed pods and they can be overwintered as a houseplant. The Pepper Ornamental, 'Caosicum annuum', is a stunning variegated foliaged pepper with deep purple flowers. Why grow a pepper as an ornamental? Because ornamental peppers, particularly this one, may be the most beautiful plant in your flower garden. The Ornamental Pepper has white, light/medium/dark green variegated foliage with purple veins. It also displays deep purple flowers and dark purple peppers turning to red.Transplant the pepper in the spring, 3 to 4 weeks after the last frost and when soil temperatures are above 65 degrees. Start the pepper seed inside 8 to 10 weeks before transplanting outside. This pepper prefers average garden soil with good organic matter. The Moulin Rouge sunflower, 'Helianthus annuus (Hybrid)', is a rich velvety, deep red sunflower. The Moulin Rouge will steal the show in your gardens and bouquets. It is pollenless and is excellent for cutting. It will produce 4 to 6 inch deep red flowers that will produce summer into fall Moulin Rouge sunflowers will grow in almost any soil. They are drought tolerant but will require considerable moisture to grow and flower profusely. A second planting 2 weeks after the initial planting and a third planting 2 weeks later will produce attractive foliage and flowers until the first fall frost. It is an excellent cut flower and can be used for a short border.
