The Brandywine Maple, Acer rubrum 'Brandywine', is known for its long lasting, brilliant reddish purple fall color. Only male flowers are produced in spring so there are no messy seeds to clean up. A medium-sized shade tree, it is perfect for the urban garden. Its bright, enduring fall color begins red and gradually turns brilliant purple red over a long period. This maple was developed by the National Arboretum and grows 25 feet tall and 12 feet wide which gives it an oval shape. It exhibits significant tolerance to leafhopper, one of the major pests of landscape red maples.

The Scotch Pine tree, Pinus Sylvestris, is a conifer that is a native of Europe and is widely used as a Christmas Tree. It is a fast growing, irregularly shaped tree. The evergreen foliage consists of short, twisted needles, which are bluish-green and often change to yellow-green in winter. It is a very winter hardy tree and is well suited throughout the Great Plains and Southern Canada. It can reach a height of six feet in six years with good care. When used in windbreaks, it should be placed in east or south inside rows and works best in partial shade to full sun. Older trees have orange-colored bark in the crown. It is a hardy tree that grows rapidly for a pine tree.

The Mugho Pine tree, Pinus mugo mughus, may also be called the dwarf mountain pine. This evergreen little dwarf conifer has branching, upright stems evenly covered in 2-inch-long needles of a deep, dark true green. Thanks to its low growth, mugho pine can be used at the front of a border or anywhere you want year-round greenery in conifer form. Mugho pine trees do not need special soil. In nature, it often grows in slightly rocky areas with shallow topsoil. It does require good drainage. Roots grow near the surface, so using a cover soil with a 2-inch-thick mulch to protect them is recommended. These trees are easily transplanted. They make a great landscaping evergreen tree because their shape and size are controllable by shearing.

The Ohio Buckeye tree, Aesculus glabra, derives the name from its large brown seeds, which resemble the eyes of the white-tailed deer. In the spring it produces greenish yellow flowers with protruding stamens, followed by prickly fruits. It is a handsome tree with attractive foliage. The Ohio Buckeye prefers shady conditions in its youth, but grows in full sun to full shade from youth through maturity. The Ohio buckeye is also known as American buckeye, fetid buckeye, and stinking buck-eye. It derives its unflattering common names from the disagreeable odor that emanates when the leaves are crushed.The leaves are dark green above and paler below. The Radiant Crabapple tree, Malus 'Radiant', produces crimson buds that open to single, striking pink flowers that will light up your landscape. This tree puts on a spectacular spring show. The Hetz Midget Arborvitae, Thuja occidentalis 'Hetz Midget', is a dense, slow growing evergreen that requires no shearing to maintain its naturally round, globe form. Being one of the smallest miniature landscape evergreens, with a very neat and tidy form, it can be used in a front row of layered foundation plantings or as an accent or border in perennial beds. The Hetz Midget can also make a great informal hedge. It has fine rich green foliage during the summer that takes on a purple cast in the winter months. The White Ash tree, Fraxinus Americana, is a handsome native tree. It develops an open and rather round topped crown in its old age. This is the largest of the ash trees in North America. Mature trunks can reach almost 6 feet in diameter. This deciduous tree has firm gray bark with diamond-shaped furrows and interlacing ridges. The tree grows in the rich, moist, well-drained soil of bottomlands and other soil types on not-so-dry slopes. The size and value of White Ash trees makes this one of the primary commercial hardwoods in the United States. The wood is hard, strong, elastic, and very useful. Several kinds of birds eat the fruit. The foliage is dark green in the summer and turns to yellow or maroon in the fall. It is tall, stately, and long lived.

It is upright in habit, and it is adaptable to a wide range of growing conditions including poorly drained sites. The Fallgold is a male tree so it is seedless, no messy seeds to pick up. The White Oak tree, Quercus alba, is a great majestic long-lived tree that will last for generations. It is an excellent wildlife source of food mass in the form of acorns. This deciduous shade tree has moderate water requirements and has a moderate tolerance to salt and alkali soils. Does best on deep, moist, well-drained, acid soils. This tree grows at a moderate pace. The White Oak is pyramidal in youth and then develops broad crown with age. The dense foliage is bluish-green, to reddish-brown in fall. The White Oak is the tree from which the phrase "The Mighty Oak" was coined. It is an excellent specimen tree needing plenty of room to mature properly. Advantages of the White Oak are that they are easily transplanted when young and they have a high resistance to ice breakage and oak wilt. They require very little maintenance.
